Biography
Dr. Horng-Dar Wang is a full Professor and the Director of Institute of Biotechnology, and an adjunct Professor of the Institute of Systems Neuroscience at National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan. He received his PhD with honor in 1997 and worked as a postdoctoral fellow from 1997 to 1999 in Department of Molecular Pharmacology and Toxicology at University of Southern California, and as a postdoctoral scholar from 1999 to 2004 in Division of Biology at California Institute of Technology. He was an Assistant Professor in 2004, an Associate Professor in 2009, and promoted as a full Professor in 2015 in the Institute of Biotechnology at National Tsing Hua University.
Research Interest
Dr. Horng-Dar Wang’s research interest focuses on anti-aging research and applies his novel discoveries into anti-cancer and anti-neurodegeneration research.
Biography
Dr. Thomas Kurz is Professor of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry at the Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf, Germany. He was born in 1967 and studied Pharmacy at the University of Hamburg from 1990 - 1995. In 1999 he received his PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Hamburg and in the year 2000 he was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Florida, Gainesville with Alan R. Katritzky. In 2007 he obtained his Habilitation degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the University of Hamburg and since 2007 he is Professor of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Düsseldorf. In 2014 he received the Phoenix Pharmacy Science Award for Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry.
Research Interest
The main research interests of Prof. Kurz are anti-infective and epigenetic drug discovery (parasitic infectious diseases & cancer). He is specialized in the development of metalloenzyme inhibitors and α-helix mimetics.
Biography
Dr. Sunil Kumar Lal is Professor of Microbiology, School of Science, Monash University, Sunway Campus, Malaysia (Aug. 2014 – present). He is working on Viruses from past 25 years. Dr. Sunil Kumar Lal has published 100+ publications and 3 books. He has conferred Hind Ratna Award, Highest NRI Civilian Honor by the Govt. of India (2016). He has also been awarded as International Ambassador of the year 2006 from the American Society for Microbiology, Washington DC. Dr. Lal has been bestowed with many Awards and honors that includes Regional Ambassador for 9 consecutive years (2002-2011)from American Society for Microbiology, 11th ICID New Investigator award by International Society for Infectious Diseases, Young Investigators Award 2002 from the Asia-Pacific Association for the Study of Liver (APASL).
